TURKISH HOUSE IN WASHINGTON, DC

A HAPPY OCCASION AT ATAA

On August 9, 2004, ATAA enjoyed two happy occasions simultaneously.

First, ATAA hosted for the first time the Turkish-American small businessmen and Turkish artisans for a dinner reception. The uniqueness of this gathering was that it was the first such meeting. The message intended here by the ATAA president was the following: "Only through complete inclusiveness of our community, can we succeed in overcoming our common obstacles, and solving our common problems in this country. ATAA's building belongs to everybody. It needs to be owned up by all."

On this day, ATAA also became The Turkish House. Mr. Irfan Baytok, a renown Turkish tailor of the Washington, DC area was presented the honor of nailing a new sign on the exterior of ATAA building, which read "TURKEVI".
