On May 12, 1996 second of
the ladies tea party under the leadership of TURANT
president Ercument Kilic was attended by 50
Turkish-American ladies from across the metroplex. The
success of the gathering was enhanced by the attendance
of the Republican Party Dallas County Chairman
Mr.Douglas Pritchered who spoke to the ladies about both
the political process in the US and the importance of
the relationship of Turkey and the US.
After Mr.Pritchard’s speech our own Neriman Yuce gave an
eloquent speech enlightening him on the issues that make
the above mention relationship important and mutually
beneficial Yuce particularly touched upon the Armenian
issue pointed out 69 prominent American historians ha
mutually agreed that the time period in question was one
of the chaos in Turkey and more Turks had died in this
period than Armenians and that there was no genocide…
Mr. Pritchard later strongly agreed with Mrs.Yuce that
the history should be left to the historians and
politicians and the US congress should arrive on no
conclusions by taking side on the issue.
We urge all Turkish-American community to be active in
this year’s Presidential elections and particularly
vote!
