As
of 2003, one new project Ercüment Kılıç has launched
has been the Itership Programs for the Turkish Youth
at the US Congress. Students who have are invited to
the nation's capitol each summer have become better
familiar with the American political system as well
as becoming our best hopes for the future American
political arena.
These internship programs begin with a week'long
orientation session. During this perios, the
students are offered lectures by valuable
Turkishnames from the Washington area university
professors, members of think tanks, politicians, and
diplomats.
Such invalauble and integral programs which have
been overlooked in the past are now finally a part
of our civic vocabulary. We have also actively
sought out and invited our youth into our
organization by organizing events to make ATAA more
inviting anf attractive, and even offered them
scholarships fist time in ATAA's history.
Short term solutions are not the answer! The
education and active involvement of our youth is.
